About Yang’s Confucian system and historic position

Abstract:In the Qing Dynasty’s academic history, Yang was a thoughtful thinker who strongly admired and sought, and created deep and profound thoughts. BaoqingHis Confucianism is unique, and its system is constructed from the original theory of “knowing the original, first”, the order of “destiny of destiny” and the worldly theory of “understanding the way and making achievements”. Because Yang Shi was able to understand the essence of Zhang Xiu’s view of heaven and the theory of heaven, Liu Guyu, a great scholar in the late Qing Dynasty, once “compared with the canal.” He inherited the idea of ​​Zhang Xu in the Northern Song Dynasty’s “harmony between man and nature”, and recently adopted the thinking framework of Li Erqu’s “understanding the way and slaughtering things” in the early Qing Dynasty, and deeply influenced Liu Guyu with his thought charm and “studying and practicing” energy. For a long time, researchers have regarded Yang as an outstanding agricultural scholar, but neglected that he was also a Confucian thinker who strongly admired and pursued the pursuit and had innovative energy. Yang Zhi’s Confucian thinking is unique and has a very dense and complex system. This article discusses Yang Zhi’s Confucian system from three aspects: first, the intrinsic theory of “knowing the original is the first”; second, the order of “sequence of destiny in heaven”; third, the worldly theory of “understanding the way and making achievements”. In addition, there is also a need to make reasonable and reasonable evaluations and conclusions about the historical position of Yang Confucianism.

 

1. Life story and doubtsInsist on emotional analysis

 

Because the academic community has rarely paid attention to Yang in the past, it is necessary to first describe his life story and clarify the doubts in it. There are not many records of Yang Zhi in existence. The important ones are the “A Brief Story of Teachers and Teachers of Yang Shishan” written by Zhang Yuaninter (1851-1931), a later student in the same town (simplified “A Brief Story”) and the “Continuous Records of Xingping County” written by Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. From this we can see that Yang Yi, whose courtesy name was Shishan, was from Xingping, Xi, and lived in the Qingkang and Qianlong eras. The content of the experience of the experience of the academic experience is as follows. Since the existence of Yang’s record information has questions about his birth and death and the records of his teacher’s relationship, it is necessary to clarify it first.

 

(I) Yang’s birth and death years Discerns of doubts

 

The “State” written by Zhang Yuanyin does not remember the year of Yang’s life. He claimed that he died in the 59th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1794) at the age of 96 (“State”, Liu Guyu’s “State” Volume 105, page 105). According to previous reports, Yang’s birth year was the 38th year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1699)Baoqing. The Qing Guangchang “Xingping County Continuous Records” set the year of Yang’s death in the fiftieth year of Qianlong (1785), at the age of 98. In this way, there were two ways to describe Yang’s birth and death: one was a member of Zhang Yuantian’s “State Records”, which was believed to be Yang in the 38th year of Kangxi (1699) and died in the 59th year of Qianlong (1794); the other was a member of Guangchang’s “Xingping County Continuous Records”, which was believed to be Yang in the 27th year of Kangxi (1688) and died in the 50th year of Qianlong (1794); Year (1785). As mentioned above, Liu Guyu specifically focused on searching for Yang Zhi’s affairs, and Zhang Yuantian was Liu Guyu’s old friend. As the “State” recorded by Yang Zhi, the notes about Yang’s birth and death are very likely to be derived from Liu Guyu. This not only is it earlier than Guangchang’s “Xingping County Continuous Records” and is also more reliable. In this way, this article believes in Zhang Yuantian’s “State”. Yang Zhi’s birth and death years are also related to the determination of his master’s association.

(II) Analysis of the doubts about the relationship between Yang Zheng

 

Although this article believes that Zhang Yuanliu’s “State” records the year of Yang’s death, he does not agree with the statements he wrote about by Yang Zheng’s author on Li Erqu. He advocates that Zhang should make more reliable historical materials based on more reliable historical materials. According to “State”, Yang Zheng “sometimes the door of Li Erqu, a great scholar in Zhouzhi, was called the world talent” (“State”), Liu Guyu’s “Cultivation of Qi directly points to Baoqingapp Review” Volume 105).
